Job Title: Fiber Technician / Lead Installer Fiber Technician / Lead Installer (BICSI INSTF) Position Summary Leads small crews and performs advanced fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting while ensuring quality and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead crews of 2-4
- Plan daily work, sequence tasks
- Validate fiber test results and documentation
- Walk jobsite with supervisors/owners
- Support warranty documentation
- Perform mechanical and fusion splicing
- Conduct OTDR and power meter testing
- Build MDF/IDF rooms and fiber management
- Patch management standards
- Basic networking concepts (patching, VLAN awareness)
