**Job Description**

The following are specific guidelines for the functioning and responsibilities of Emergency Department Care Assistants assigned to the Department of Emergency Medicine,

**Qualifications**

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Prefer relevant experience in an inpatient health care setting.

**Responsibilities**

**1.Supplies and Equipment Management**

**a.** Monitors and maintains equipment in the Emergency Department; works with supervisor, ED staff and outside departments (e.g., Biomedical Engineering and Engineering) to ensure equipment remains in good working order.

**b.** Inspects broken equipment for repaired/replacement.

**c.** Order additional accessories for equipment and replaces accessories as needed.

**d.** Ensures all procedure rooms have basic equipment i.e. (Mayo Stand, monitor cables)
