An Embryologist plays a critical role in the success of an IVF centre, responsible for the handling, assessment and manipulation of gametes and embryos in the laboratory. He/she ensures that laboratory protocols and techniques are rigorously followed to maximise success rates of fertility treatments. The embryologist will be working closely with IVF clinicians, nurses and other clinical staff to facilitate patient-centered reproductive care.
Job Responsibilities
1. Embryology Procedures:
. Perform gamete (egg and sperm) collection, assessment, preparation and culture.
. Carry out in-vitro fertilisation procedures including conventional IVF and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
. Monitor embryo development from fertilisation through to blastocyst stage.
