Summary This position is in the Office of Planning and Analytics (OPA), Economic Research and Regulatory Analysis Division, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). You will be responsible for economic analysis and related activities required to support PHMSA regulatory activity and additional assigned economic analyses. Responsibilities As an Economist, you will: Develop regulatory impact analyses and regulatory flexibility analyses as part of the federal rulemaking process. Collaborate with the Office of Chief Counsel, Office of Pipeline Safety, and Office of Hazardous Materials Safety on regulatory development process. Assess the costs, benefits, efficiency, and impacts of PHMSA's regulatory and safety programs to help provide economic information that can be used as a tool to assess policy decisions made by the agency.
