Our client based in Cape Town, Northern Suburbs is seeking a Data Centre Co-ordinator to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient maintenance, installation, decommissioning, and coordination of all Interconnect Cabling, Power Distribution Units installations, Remote Hands and Smart Hands support within the Data Centre, as well as for all Ad-Hoc client support requirements.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Full installation & Decommissioning of communication cables in line with customer requirements (CAT5e, CAT6 and Fibre). This will include installing, testing and labelling new cables, uploading test results and documenting cable routes within stipulated SLA turnaround times
• Testing and troubleshooting cabling issues which will include CAT6, Singlemode & Multimode fibreoptic cabling with appropriate testing instruments, i.e. OTDR, Power Meter, Light Source, Copper & Coax...
