Responsible for providing minimally invasive, image-guided diagnosis and treatment of diseases using CT and other imaging modalities; utilize theoretical knowledge of medical radiation physics and biology principles to support Henry Ford Radiologists in the performance of minimally invasive radiologic procedures to aid in the evaluation and treatment of patient diseases; in consultation with Radiologists, determine the appropriate imaging techniques and patient positioning to obtain the best possible images for diagnostic and/or treatment purposes and ensure safety practices for limiting patient radiation exposure; prepare patients for radiologic procedures by obtaining and reviewing all relevant information regarding the patient’s medical history and anatomical structures necessary to correctly perform the procedures; answer patient questions about radiation exposure during procedures; prepare the prescribed contrast median, medications and IV solutions being administered to patients ...
