Role Overview

Position: Consultant Paediatrician – Paediatrics / Planet Sunshine / NNU, 1.0 FTE. Permanent contract. Salary: ASMS Senior Medical and Dental Officers SECA, Medical and Dental Specialist Scale ($185,380–$267,980). Location: Gisborne Hospital, Te whiwhinga mahi.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general and community paediatrics, including management of neonates, acutely unwell children, children with chronic disease, and behavioural disorders.
• Deliver inpatient, outpatient and community services to the Tairāwhiti population (≈ 52000, ~50% Māori).
• Participate in an on‑call roster, including evenings and weekends, with an average commitment of 80 hours per fortnight and a one‑in‑six roster schedule.
• Collaborate closely with the wider Paediatric team and interdisciplinary colleagues to achieve high‑quality care.
