Somtum Thai Limited is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join its newly acquired restaurant in Timaru. The company operates established Thai restaurants in Wellington and is expanding its regional presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Thai dishes to a consistently high standard
- Managing the day‑to‑day operation of an allocated kitchen section during preparation and service
- Ensuring all dishes are prepared in accordance with approved recipes, portion standards, and presentation requirements
- Preparing Thai curry pastes, sauces, marinades, soups, stir‑fry dishes, rice and noodle dishes, salads, and other menu items
- Maintaining the authenticity, flavour balance, texture, and presentation of Thai cuisine
- Assisting the Head Chef with menu preparation, daily specials, and seasonal menu adjustments
