About the District
The Los Osos Community Services District is an independent special district serving the unincorporated community of Los Osos on California's Central Coast. Governed by a five-member elected Board of Directors, the District provides water, drainage, parks and recreation, street lighting, and solid waste services to approximately 15,000 residents. Fire protection and emergency response services are provided through a contract with CalFire.
The District operates through two primary departments—Administration and Utilities—and is supported by 10 employees. The District manages an annual operating budget of approximately $8 million and a capital budget of $2.8 million.
