The Utilities/Systems Automation SME is responsible for the support of the automated systems within Utilities and Infrastructure areas on site.

This role requires you to support/lead a team of Automation Technicians to provide shift based automation support to the site Operating Units (OpUs and Utilities).

Responsibility in providing both local\global strategic thinking within their key areas of expertise.

Provide automation subject matter expertise within Utilities/Infrastructure and across site while working closely with equipment engineers in specifying and implementing automation projects.

Provide Automation SME Support & Coaching to the site on the QBMS/BMS/MCS and other Auxiliary PLC/SCADA type controlled systems including system infrastructure areas.

Provide technical SME support and guidance for the Automation Systems on site including Compliance and Data integrity areas

**Responsibilities:**

+ Coach, mentor, and grow technical and self directed teams.

+ Support/lead a team of Automation Technicians as required to provide shift based automation support to the site Operating Units (OpUs and Utilities).

+ Provide in-depth working knowledge of Pfizer GC utility processes across site.

+ Provide Automation technical SME guidance and support to projects and other technical teams with QBMS/BMS/MCS control systems design including all the areas of Automated System Lifecycle management and Data Intergity (DI).

+ Recognized as a Technical leader within the department giving Automation engineering and technology direction for the Honeywell and Emerson DCS automation systems.

+ Drives key strategies focusing on process control optimization, systems integration and upgrades.

+ Provide SME technical support to partners within Engineering and Operations for automated systems during the lifecycle of the equipment.

+ Leads significant Opex/Capex projects with multi-functional teams or multi-site projects.

+ Manages the specification, contract negotiation, purchasing, development and installation of projects within budget and corporate guidelines.

+ Oversee the technical design, development and testing of control systems in accordance with site coding standards and following good engineering practice.

+ Support the development and implementation of Automation Engineering Best Practices throughout the organization, including: major capital projects, equipment upgrades, equipment and system purchases, new product startups and site training.

+ Owner and contributor on global engineering topics and provides strategic direction within SME forums or CIGs.

+ Drives innovative ideas in the application of process automation technology and data integration.

+ Peer Review of network projects, design, costs and value-engineering exercises.

+ Maintains an in-depth SME technical knowledge for automation systems on site including distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, SCADA and PC-based production system.

+ Deliver on Automation Systems continuous improvement initiatives using 6 Sigma methodologies.

+ Must be able to communicate clearly and articulately in a service orientated manner.

+ Develop the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Maintenance and Operation of the Automated Systems.

+ Implement code changes on the automation systems under change management / change control.

+ Participate in the development of the Automated System Lifecycle documents.

+ Any other activities as directed by the Site Automation Lead. **Qualifications and Experience required**

+ Appropriate Engineering Qualification (preferably B.Sc. / B.E. degree in engineering, with particular emphasis in electrical/electronic, Automation/Mechatronics, or chemical discipline).

+ 5 years of on Site broad SME working experience in their area of expertise

+ Must be solutions orientated, delivery focused and passionate about supporting production.

+ Experience with developing and coaching of technical teams.

+ Proven ability to lead technical programs and complex initiatives, fostering support from stakeholders and collaboration among participants.

+ Proven Experience supporting Honeywell and Emerson DCS control systems (MCS/QBMS/BMS) including PLC, SCADA and HMI systems in a regulated environment.

+ Experience of managing large scale automation projects on site.

+ Relevant experience in system architecture and automation integration.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Possesses the ability to think independently, make good decisions in a timely manner and to work well as part of a team.

+ Expected to continue to develop skills to maintain subject matter expertise.
