**Your Role and Responsibilities**
IBM is looking for a self-driven procurement professional, English language knowledge to support an external client
Responsible for executing category strategy and managing the contractual commitments for a given category. This role will report to a people manager within Procurement Services organization, with business direction provided by a Sourcing Manager. Requires the ability to conduct market analysis, including market drivers, supplier profiles and relative negotiating positions and create and consult on Category management and strategies. Expected travel: approximately 2-3 days a week in first months then will taper as required
**Main Responsibility Areas:**
+ Provide category support as assigned by the Client Sourcing Consultant and Category Strategy Leader
+ Owns primary responsibility to achieve client success against all contractual commitments at a category level
+ Responsible to understand category deliverables, savings commitments, milestones and obligations, and establish a project plan to meet each
+ Develop integrated (tactical and strategic) category sourcing strategy which delivers short term savings and drives category transformation through time
+ Provide category leadership and direction to Category Buyers
+ Responsible for on- going category management activities including driving supplier performance, demand management savings, and increasing category compliance
+ Communicate and negotiate with clients and suppliers through all levels of organization, primary interface to key category client stakeholders
**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
+ Fluent German
+ Fluent English
+ Fluency in any of the following languages: German, French, Spanish
+ Decision making skills
+ Deep, specific category sourcing knowledge
+ Client facing skills
+ Demonstrated Negotiation skills and expertise
+ Supplier relationship management expertise
+ Strong communication skills
+ Proactive character, taking the initiative
+ Assertive personality
+ Team player attitude
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
+ Attention to detail and accuracy in every aspect of the role
+ Flexibility to undertake any non-routine requests
+ Open for new challenges and look for win-win situations
**Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise**
IT Skills preferred: Lotus Notes, MS Office, Outlook, Ariba, SAP, etc.
