An opportunity for a Principal Sustainability Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary consultancy within Building Services has arisen.  Working closely with an Associate, the Principal Engineer will contribute to the operational delivery of projects, the management of client relationships and a team, developing personal skills with a view to progressing to a fuller managerial role. The client operates across multiple sectors in state-of-the-art workspaces in locations across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, and MENA regions. Globally recognised for winning multiple CIBSE, construction and employer awards. Projects are both UK wide and international and with collaboration with organisations like the World and UK Green Building Council. Responsibilities:Establish Sustainability & Building Physics teamStrong emphasis on business development and leadershipTechnical support from other UK based offices/shared workloadOngoing training in early stages of appointmentWorking closely with colleagues of various disciplinesDesign, analyse, report and document Sustainability & Building Physics projectsPresent to clients and across a variety of sectorsYou will be responsible for client management and project delivery for key work streams:Building physics and parametric model servicesBuilding performance and operational energy optimisationCertification and complianceHealth and wellbeing advice and guidanceNet zero carbon servicesSustainability design servicesSustainable Strategy and GovernanceQualifications:Masters level (or equivalent) in Engineering or the Built EnvironmentRelevant practical experience in a similar roleChartered of working towards chartership statusExperience of sustainability and building physics (thermal comfort, passive design, compliance modelling and real operational energy assessments)Knowledge of dynamic simulation softwareKnowledge of mechanical design, UK Building Regulations, planning issues, climate-based daylighting analysis, operational energy calculation and life cycle carbon costing is highly desirable.Financial and resource management (critical)
