Role Summary:This is an exciting opportunity to manage GE Renewables global indirect Digital Technology sourcing (software, hardware and professional services) buy by establishing first class global software license and professional service agreements. The position requires a savvy business professional with deep software knowledge and top notch licensing, supplier management, negotiation, sourcing, and project management experience.
Essential Responsibilities:This challenging environment demands an individual who will consistently deliver double-digit deflation, lead challenging negotiations with the software industry, master complicated licensing models (like on-prem, hosted and cloud), establish and lead sourcing processes, work in a matrixed environment, develop strong relationships with both senior leadership, and with C-level executives within the largest software companies and other vendors. This position is also accountable for delivering commercial, financial, and business objectives as related to technology goods and services such as managed software services/cloud contracts across the business group.
+ Accountable for delivering business framework agreements and enterprise license agreements for use of software/professional services within GE Digital globally for any range of suppliers.
+ Develop short- and long-term strategies for GE Renewables to embrace cloud and SaaS opportunities while leveraging existing GE investments
+ Work with other Business Unit sourcing teams on cross company acquisition, service, and supplier initiatives including RFI/RFP’s and single source negotiations or renegotiations.
+ Collaborate with Business Leaders in setting realistic but challenging operations goals and objectives.
+ Develop sourcing plans to integrate Business needs into a global commodity teams including benchmarking suppliers, contracts, and services and evaluating various Business Unit level requirements, existing opportunities, or new initiatives. This includes setting sourcing strategies and executing those strategies to deliver material improvements on quality, price, and service
+ Collaborate with Senior Leadership across the Business to drive Sourcing Strategic imperatives
+ Collaborate with appropriate finance, compliance, and legal subject matter experts
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Software Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge or experience
+ Strong experience in sourcing and software licensing
+ Significant experience in working with financial information as a means of decision making, pricing comparisons & benchmarking
+ Strong experience in sourcing negotiating at the highest levels of a supplier
+ Ability to work with minimum supervision in the cross-cultural environment across different geographic area
+ Excellent written/verbal communication at an executive Level
+ Drive to execute under extreme deadline pressures
+ Master’s degree in software engineering or MBA
+ Strong business acumen
+ Strong customer service mindset
+ Demonstrated project management skills with ability to lead multiple, highly visible initiatives
+ Independent thinker with the proven history of shifting paradigms
+ Knowledge of information technologies and services, specifically cloud services and software as a service license models
+ Aggressive in execution and undaunted by challenges
+ Inspirational leadership that motivates team to deliver despite obstacles
