About the role
This is an exciting role that will see you carry out a range of duties (operational and transactional) that will give you an excellent insight into our business as you look to develop your career.
Operationally you will work as part of an HR Services team offering the business quality HR advice by being the first point of contact, delivering robust administrative assistance and guidance for our internal and external customers, supporting and advising managers and employees on our HR policies & processes as well as legislation. You will also be given every opportunity to support the Senior HR Advisor on Employee Relation cases where you will advise, support and coach line managers on the broad range of topics that ER covers.
Day to day duties will see you heavily involved and sometimes “leading” in the full employee lifecycle, from supporting our end-to-end recruitment mission, administering contracts for new starters and assisting managers with on-boarding, to ensuring payroll records are updated and HR systems fully maintained. You’ll also have an eye for figures and some budget management skills to ensure we support our finance obligations too.
We work with a variety of systems including PeopleSoft & Taleo, and your work will see you regularly liaise with our London colleagues and our offices in Birmingham and Manchester.
This is a challenging role but an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to progress from HR administration role to an Advisor role.

About you
We are looking for an ambitious HR professional who is ready to take that next step. You will already be able to evidence experience of carrying out most of the duties mentioned above and will be looking for the chance to take your career to the next level. Chances are you’ve started your CIPD qualification and it’s a given that your communication, MS office, prioritising & planning skills are at a high standard. Your attention to detail will be legendary.
What will set you apart is your ability to adapt and flex on a daily basis, depending to the needs of the business. You will need to be agile (mentally) to succeed in this role and have an excellent mix of common sense and courage. You must be comfortable taking a view and then having the confidence to make a decision, despite perhaps a lack of information or potential conflict.
We will also look to you to continually review your role and make recommendations to improve quality, time efficiency or process improvement.
