Role Summary:As a BI Developer in the Data & Analytics domain within GE Renewables, you will work closely with the D&A team and all GE Renewable functions to create state-of-the-art data and analytics driven solutions. You will be a member of an integrated Data & Analytics team (data architects, data engineers, data visualization experts, business analysts) to deliver successful outcomes driving efficiency and enabling the Renewables business.

Essential Responsibilities:As a BI Developer, we need you to be able to integrate different data sources, work with various architectures and be key person for ETL related topics. Moreover, you’d need to grasp the essence of large data sets, we’ll look at you to transfer and represent information so that it’s relevant, simple and to the point.

• Build and support data ingestion for various source systems into our team’s Data Lake

• Implement, document and support data engineering solutions in an agile environment

• Experience with core data structures as well as algorithms (and the ability to implement them using language of choice when necessary)

• Collaborate with data architects, frontend developers and business analysts to implement solutions that are aligned with our stakeholder’s and our own strategic directions

• Support & Participation in any testing activities which facilitates user sign-off on use cases\\requirements

• Support impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design /architectural considerations and implementation strategy. Initiate setting standards for Information management & data visualization best practices.

Qualifications/Requirements:• Significant experience in relational databasing (preferably Oracle, Postgres, Greenplum, Redshift)

• Preferably some experience in Unix/Linux environments

• Significant experience with at least one programming language (e.g. Java, Python, Scala)

• Ability to take a deep dive in the implementation aspects

• Good English skills (written and spoken)

• Positive attitude and team player

Desired Characteristics:• Degree information technology, mathemathics, physics, engineering, economics or any related fields or equivalent knowledge or work experience

• Experience with ETL, orchestration data cataloguing tools & procedures (e.g. Talend, Postgresql, Alation)

• Preferably some experience with Tableau visualization tool

• Experience working in AWS environment with native AWS tech

• Experience with version control (e.g. SVN, git) and continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins, TeamCity) tools

• Experience and understanding of how to optimize service data and visualization for size or speed

• Strong in Debugging and Troubleshooting abilities

• Good English skills (written and spoken)

• Positive, “can do” attitude

• Flexibility, team player & good sense of ownership
