Role Summary
This role will be based in Milan, Italy and will be a key member of the Region Europe legal team (based in Morges, Switzerland), supporting the Incyte Italy business, regional functions/projects and select country operations/distributor markets in Europe. The successful candidate will also be a member of the Incyte Italy leadership team and have the ability to successfully flex and meet the demands of both local affiliate and regional needs.
The successful candidate will provide legal, compliance and privacy support to Incytes clinical development and business activities in Italy and select distributor markets. Depending on skills and experience, the candidate may also support select regional business functions, privacy or compliance projects and additional country operations and business projects in Europe.

Duties and Responsibilities
Lead legal, privacy and compliance counsel for Incytes activities in Italy, select distributor markets and certain regional business functions
Provision of clear, pragmatic and high quality legal, privacy and compliance advice on a wide range of business activities relating to Incytes pipeline and marketing products
Legal support to companysponsored and companysupported clinical trials and noninterventional studies with scope of geographic responsibility
Lead healthcare compliance and privacy efforts within scope of geographic responsibility in line with global and regional strategy and Incyte Italy Organizational and Management Models (231 Model)
Key contributor to the evolution of Incytes healthcare and privacy regional compliance programs
Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics
May provide legal support to other countries/projects, taking into account skills, experience and interests
Work in close cooperation with global and regional legal, privacy and compliance colleagues to ensure that risks are identified and mitigated and Incyte business operations are appropriately and effectively supported
Travel to the European HQ (Switzerland) and other countries within geographic scope, as required
Requirements
Legal education from a recognized university and in possession of relevant qualifications to practice law in Italy
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in a law firm (life sciences/healthcare practice area only) or inhouse at a multinational life sciences/healthcare company
Experience counselling on many aspects of biopharmaceutical business activities, including product advertising, clinical research, MSL and salesforce interactions with healthcare professionals, employment matters, commercial contracting, etc.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex or technical content in a convincing way to nonlegal audiences

Ability to manage workload and priorities in support to a mix of country operations and regional departments or projects across legal, healthcare compliance and privacy areas
Experience in counselling on healthcare compliance issues, including interactions with healthcare professionals and market access stakeholders, data privacy, advertising, clinical research, product launches, anticorruption (with particular focus on Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001), market access and European competition law
Experienced and adept at navigating international, multilingual, and crossfunctional organizational matrices
Strong knowledge of privacy regulations in EU generally and Italy, specifically
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a flexible mindset and cando attitude
Exceptional judgment and maturity; capable of properly assessing risks and proposing successful solutions, knowing when to escalate matters, and capable of taking a firm stand when necessary
Selfaware person who can prioritize and delegate work effectively and successfully manage expectations
Ability to identify and implement effective and innovative system or processlevel improvements to drive efficiency
Proactive “selfstarter” who is resultsoriented and capable of taking the lead on projects to drive clear and timely outcomes
Solid legal and commercial acumen, gained through professional training or prior experience
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to function effectively among an entrepreneurial, highenergy team to support the business in meeting its corporate objectives effectively and in a compliant manner
Fluency in English and Italian is required. Proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
