The Assistant Vice President – EMEA Regulatory Policy & Advisory will be responsible for supporting Citi meet five key aspects of Prudential Capital Regulatory Policy, with particular emphasis on the Capital Requirements Directive and Capital Requirements Regulation (CRDIV ) / Basel III: 1. Interpretation of Regulation and developing associated Policy – coordination and oversight over the interpretation of relevant Local Regulations as well as maintenance of relevant prudential rules impacting firms in scope at a specific date 2. Advisory – Front Office support, New Product Approval Committee 3. Regulatory Developments – capturing and disseminating rule changes and technical updates 4. Consideration of the future Regulatory Landscape as well as supporting internal and external impact assessments 5. Supporting Advocacy and Lobbying – working with other teams to drive and impact the agenda for upcoming regulatory developments It is envisaged that that role-holder will cover all aspects of policy regarding reporting (i.e. COREP, Pillar 3 and AR&A) as well as being the main contact point for a number of businesses. Responsibilities: The Assistant Vice President – EMEA Regulatory Policy and Advisory will be responsible for: Capturing relevant updates from Regulators, including Global, European and EMEA country specific (rules, RTS/ITS, Q&As, Guidelines) that may impact prudential capital and leverage reporting; Supporting Government Affairs in advocacy and lobbying efforts related to relevant regulations; Analysing and interpreting new relevant regulatory rules: communicating these to the relevant internal stakeholders in the firm and working with other stakeholders to determine the impact of new rules on legal entities’ capital, business, regulatory systems and business model as appropriate; Supporting implementation efforts for relevant new Regulations as they come into force (e.g. advising on and reviewing business requirements documentation addressing new Regulations); Communicating significant regulatory issues and complex new regulations to senior management in a timely manner, including participating in Governance meetings of Citi EMEA subsidiary entities to present and explain significant regulatory developments and being secretary for the monthly Regulatory Policy Meeting at which stakeholders are updated on key developments for the month; Contributing to the review and approval of regulatory interpretations by the CRR Interpretative Office and Capital and Liquidity Interpretation Working Group; Developing and delivering training presentations to facilitate firm-wide education of new or proposed regulation; Providing technical regulatory advice to various Front Office businesses; Advising and challenging Front Office on capital optimisation initiatives that they propose; Representing EMEA Regulatory Policy and Advisory as a member of EMEA ICG’s New Product Approval Committee in reviewing and approving new products and structured transactions and ensuring that franchise risks are addressed; Interacting with regulatory standard setters and actively participating and representing Citi on Regulatory Policy industry forums and committees; Supporting the Quality Assurance team in development of work programmes, ongoing technical advice and technical reviews of final reports; Technical support and advice to Regulatory Reporting; Support to Risk regarding the requirements for Advanced Models; Working closely with other teams across Citi to foster knowledge-sharing and best practices. Qualifications: A finance professional with experience in a regulatory or policy role Knowledge of CRR rules and relevant regulatory reporting requirements, and a strong desire to develop these further. Education: Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
