The primary mission of AWS Networking is to connect customers and services through the most secure and highly available network. Availability of the network for our customers is our primary driver, and this requires that we drive changes within the network quickly and safely via automation. To drive network change quickly, safely, and effortlessly, we view the network as software and network change as continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) of software updates into the network. We are developing the AWS network CI that empowers humans to describe the intent of network design and a workflow that integrates those changes with automated testing before release into the network. Network CD takes released changes and continuously deploys them into network. We are doing this through the Network Control and Management team within AWS Networking.
NCM is growing very rapidly in Dublin, Ireland. We are looking for a leader that has strong people management skills, with a strong / technical background and who has built new products and services and improved existing services – preferably in the networking / data and control plane areas.
Have astrong understanding of Continuous Integration / Continuous Development focusing on data driven management.The candidate will lead the team through Agile best practices, dealing with multiple and demanding customers, customer requirements and stakeholder management. We are looking for a candidate who can come in and not only manage the team through engineering best practices but also lead customer focussed meetings and prioritization discussion.

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
+ 7+ years of relevant development and design experience.
+ 5+ years of management experience (managing engineers).
+ Strong Agile Development skills; collaborative development; stakeholder and customer management is a MUST.
+ Passionate about delivering exceptional products that delight customers.
+ Project management experience.
+ Experience managing teams that design and support large-scale distributed systems in a 24×7 environment.
+ Strong technical credentials with expertise in OOP, Java, Python, C# or C++.
+ Data driven — can establish the right set of metrics towards business success and operational excellence.
+ Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
