The Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) organization within Qualcomm is looking for Cyber Security professionals to join our Threat Detection & Response Services (TDRS) team.
ISRM is chartered with protecting Qualcomm digital systems and assets around the globe. We are seeking experienced individuals with exposure to analyzing security related information in a large, complex environment that is subjected to substantial cyber threats.
Our TDRS team are critical in the early identification of threats to the environment, and work with internal teams in providing timely response to incidents while continually improving our detection and response capabilities.
Working within a global experienced cybersecurity team, you will have the opportunity to utilize and enhance your problem solving, analysis and reasoning skills to innovate and enhance our ability to react to emerging threats. This is an opportunity to go beyond tool-based analysis and utilize your deep technical understanding of attacker behaviour to pre-empt cyber-attack techniques, build defensive capabilities and proactively hunt for indicators of attack/compromise.
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years IT-relevant work experience OR 5+ years IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree.

In order to be successful, the ideal candidate will possess:
+ An analytical mindset, able to identify potential threats in a complex environment
+ Experience in information security with knowledge in data analysis
+ Experience with a wide variety of security technologies and processes to quantify and mitigate risks
+ Knowledge of Internet connectivity and protocols (TCP/IP), and networking experience
+ Familiarity with common operating system and business application platforms with an understanding of enterprise architecture and integrations
+ A good understanding of application and security event logging systems
+ A desire for continual improvement; Identifying opportunities for improvements in administrative and technical controls, and owning enhancements through to delivery
+ Familiarity with enterprise information systems including infrastructure, services, and applications
+ Ability to gather system requirements, performing process analysis, work independently, and troubleshoot complex systems
+ A passion for security and a demonstrable knowledge of industry events and of current cyber exploit techniques and mitigations
+ Excellent communication skills to influence and build trust within a multinational team
+ A demonstrable track record for taking initiative and getting things done under ambiguous direction
+ The ability to quantify and demonstrate business value of team activities
+ The ability to take ownership of learning about new technologies with little direction or oversight
+ A track record of flexibility and versatility to adapt to the ever-changing threat environment and business drivers that influence the projects and priorities of ISRM
+ An ability to build collaborative relationships with EU and global business partners (up to executive level)

+ Related industry certifications
+ An advanced degree in Cyber Security
+ Exposure to both insider and external threat detection/prevention techniques
+ Exposure to threat intelligence processes, procedures, and techniques
+ Previous experience of being directly involved with Cyber Incident Response teams and techniques
+ A good understanding of (working within) a large enterprise IT service provision
Preferred: Master’s, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Networks & Systems and/or Computer Science
