The Finance Lead – Global Inventory & COGs, based in Dublin, is responsible for financial planning and analysis for Alexion’s Global Inventory and Cost of Goods. This is a rare opportunity to have global oversight of end to end Inventory and Cost of Goods of a global business, with the decision makers being co-located on the Dublin site.
It is a key position within a dynamic financial planning and analysis team with a global outlook. The individual will be a critical player in long term planning, providing clear insight to senior leadership in strategic planning in areas such as capacity & resource planning. This role is recognised globally as the expert in COGs and supports strategic decision making in many areas including pricing. This role interacts regularly with senior leadership in both reporting of performance and scenario planning for existing products & in the area of Business Development.
This individual will need to be a self-starter in a very dynamic environment with the ability to both implement and continuously improve processes.
Business partner with Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain & Inventory Management
+ Lead quarterly global inventory obsolescence review meetings
+ Present monthly/quarterly metrics and dashboards
+ Report on manufacturing activity in the month
+ Partner with Inventory Management in the coordination of year end physical counts
+ Provide costings to the Global Trade Compliance group
+ Lead and participate in process improvements
+ Ad hoc requests in support of business decisions
+ Participate in projects related to global production, supply chain, and inventory on an as-needed basis.
Month End Close
Responsible for Global Inventory and Global COGS monthly close process
+ Prepare Variance Analysis Summary and report monthly KPI’s & dashboards (Process Order Variances, Purchase Price Variances)
+ Consolidate monthly review of Inventory Reserves
+ Prepare Global COGS Dashboard
+ Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
+ Review of month end journal entries impacting COGS and inventory
+ Report monthly results to Senior Leadership
+ Responsible for reconciling Third Party inventory with Alexion records
+ Ensure work in progress is accurately stated
+ Review profit in inventory elimination entries
+ Prepare Inventory reporting by product, stage and site
+ Complete flux analysis of monthly movements in balances.
Cost of Goods Forecasting
Owner of Global Cost of Goods
+ Prepare long range plan forecasts for cost of goods sold for all Alexion products
+ Support Senior Management with scenario analysis for product costing
+ Participate in the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan processes
+ Responsible for submitting quarterly COGS forecasts
+ Variance forecasting
+ Consolidate annual standard setting in SAP
+ Inventory Forecasting and inventory revaluation analysis
+ Presentation of COGS forecasts to Senior Leadership
Internal Control & Audit
Responsible for internal control for global inventory & COGs
+ Support the development and documentation of policies and procedures
+ Ensure related SOX controls are documented & working as designed
+ Lead contact for all audit queries (internal and external).
+ Qualified Accountant
+ 5+ PQE in a manufacturing/operations environment (preferably with costing experience)
+ Expert Knowledge of SAP, with excel modelling skills a plus
+ Computer skills – Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint.
+ Diploma/Degree in accounting or equivalent.
+ Member of a Professional Accounting Body (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CPA).
