**Summary:**

Facebook is seeking an Electrical Engineer experienced in the Design and operations of Critical Facilities to become part of our data center engineering team. Our datacenters are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease. Building and operating data centers the “right” way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. The data center design engineering team approaches facility design from the chips on the server boards to the facility mechanical and electrical distribution systems which ensure and maximise efficiency of our compute infrastructure. This position is full-time and located in our Dublin office.

**Required Skills:**

1. Collaborate with internal stake-holders to define project design criteria and develop Basis of Design

2. Technical leader managing the consultants to implement the project through schematic design, design development, to construction documents

3. Technical leader managing the design build contractor to ensure the project meets the business and technical needs defined in the BOD

4. Provide construction administrative support to the project manager during construction. Task include but not limited to, responding to RFI’s, issuance of technical bulletins, review submittals and shop-drawings, conducting source inspections at vendor factories and participating in the data center construction commissioning process

5. Provide and analyze energy efficient solutions to minimize power losses

6. Review and develop detailed scripts for change management request (CMR) activities

7. Travel to data center sites for engineering studies, electrical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning, as required

8. Provide electrical mission critical system review services to local data center operations teams

9. Participate in equipment failure or power outage related incident Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA)

10. Provide written and verbal instructions to design consultants, installation contractors and validate quality of installed works

11. Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies

**Minimum Qualifications:**

12. BEng or BSc (Hons) in Electrical Engineering

13. Electrical Chartered Engineer is Preferred

14. Minimum of 8 years professional experience in data center design, construction, operations, and maintenance

15. Must hold high level knowledge of high voltage (220kV,110kV,150, 22kV, 20kV) substation design, mission critical power distribution, UPS, PDU, Earthing, generator systems and Building Management System

16. Should possess knowledge of industry standards, local and national building codes and safety standards including ETCI, IEC, BS, EN, IS, IEEE

17. Familiar with construction process and cost estimating process

18. Must have strong cross-discipline knowledge of complete critical facility systems

19. Past experience in load management at the operations level, a plus

20. Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills

21. Ability to provide solutions to complex projects under pressure

22. Must have effective communications skills, fluent in English

23. Must be familiar with AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam, Amtech power suite, SKM software & Autodesk BIM360.
