As manager of development teams for Solid-State NMR detectors, you will be responsible to lead and organize the development activities aimed at guaranteeing a successful completion of development projects in the context of a global R&D network. In this position you will support and ina later stage lead a team of engineers, working on multiple projects requiring alignment and constant exchange with other teams, both in Germany and in Switzerland. Your major accountabilities: – In a first stage support, and in a later stage organize and lead the team in order to accomplish the goals set for the various development projects in the field of Solid-State MAS NMR and EPR detectors;- Re-organize organizational tasks and development processes in such a way to free up time resources and personal resources dedicated to technological and scientific activities either within existing and future internal projects or collaborative projects with external partners (customers, vendors, et al.) – Assure correct and sustainable balance of resources allocated to projects; assure successful incorporation of other project partners in the PLM process (Production, Supply Chain Management, Service, Finances, others) – Assure that development processes are executed according to corporate global guidelines and quality standards (e.g., Product Lifecycle Management processes and other R&D processes); – Assure that project transition from technology to product development and finally to production are done in a timely and clearly organized manner in order to assure predictability of the development cycle and of completion of product development;- Establish a link for information exchange and at a later stage where meaningful and required, a network of collaborative projects between probe R&D groups in DE and CH, based on technology developments, overlapping projects, and products.- Contribute to the unification and harmonization of R&D tools (software, knowledge bases, intranet structure, databases) applied at R&D sites in DE and CH, their interface to similar tools applied in production departments and the interfacing of R&D information and documents with SAP – Nurture a culture of innovation based on the principles of transparency and collaboration among teams working in different geographical locations; – Nurture an intense team spirit between different groups (scientific core team, development teams, production, testing) – Guarantee a thorough overview of the skills and competencies of the team and promote employees technical and personal development; – Take ownership of the local budgeting activities (personnel and material expenses) to help the formal definition Reporting Line: - In this role you will report to the Technical Director of the NMR Probes (TD PRO) located in Switzerland; – In this role you will first act as manager strongly supporting todays development organization and in a second step leading development teams which perform product realization in accordance with the targets defined by the scientific core team.
